RED BANK: FRAUD ON CHURCH ALLEGED

An employee of outside contractor to St. James Church was indicted Tuesday on charges he embezzled stole more than $75,000 from the Red Bank institution over a six-year period.

An indictment handed down Monday by a Monmouth County grand jury alleges that Robert Ouimet, 49, of Manasquan, issued forged vouchers purporting to have been authorized by someone else, identified only by the initials “R.P.”

EX-LAWYER ARRESTED FOR LOCUST FRAUD

A former Red Bank lawyer was arrested Wednesday on a theft charge for fraudulently putting the ownership of a Middletown property in his own name, the Monmouth County Prosecutor announced late in the day.

Alexander Iler, 38, of Middletown, who maintained a law office on Broad Street, is alleged to have forged the signature of a purported seller on a deed, making himself the buyer, said Acting Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni.

• On November 2, 2011 at approximately 8:20 am Patrolman Robert McNair and Patrolman Darrin Simon responded to the WAWA store on Highway 36 in reference to a report of a vehicle that had just been stolen from the parking lot. The vehicle had been left running and unattended while the owner went into the store. The description of the vehicle was broadcasted to officer in the area as well as to surrounding towns.

M’TOWN COPS MAKE RX FRAUD ARREST

Middletown police busted a Keansburg man late last month for allegedly submitting a false prescription for 120 Oxycodone pills at a pharmacy in the Navesink section of town.

The investigation also yielded forgery and receiving stolen property charges, police said.
